Health Camp at COPBELA Promotes Community Wellness Under 'Mission Sehatmand Punjab'

A free health camp was successfully organized at the Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, BELA Ropar campus under the state initiative Mission Sehatmand Punjab. The event was a joint effort by the Lifecare Foundation and the college’s student organizations—Pharmanic Club, Rotaract Club, and Red Ribbon Club—aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and early disease detection.

The camp drew participation from 193 local residents, offering a range of diagnostic services at minimal or no cost. The focus was on lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and kidney dysfunction. Free screenings included Kidney Function Tests (6 parameters), Uric Acid, Blood Glucose, and vital checks such as blood pressure and BMI. In addition, participants could access a comprehensive Full Body Check-up (60 tests) at a highly subsidized rate of ₹600, making high-quality diagnostics affordable for all. The initiative demonstrated the power of collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare NGOs in extending medical access to underserved communities. Faculty members lauded the students’ active involvement, emphasizing that such programs play a crucial role in fostering awareness and building a healthier Punjab through early diagnosis and preventive care.
