World Pharmacist Day celebrated at BELA Pharmacy College

World Pharmacist Day was celebrated on September 25, 2024, at Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela (Ropar) (Autonomous). This year, the celebration was filled with enthusiasm. The event kicked off with a rally led by the college's director, Dr. Shailesh Sharma, along with Dr. Ajay Singh Kushwaha and Dr. Suman Lata. The rally started from the college and wound through the market in village Bela before returning to campus. During the opening of the program, Dr. Sharma highlighted the significance of the day, noting that it marks the anniversary of the International Federation of Pharmacists, which was established in 2012. He emphasized the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare today, discussing their responsibilities in dispensing medications, engaging in import-export activities, and utilizing new technologies to ensure that patients receive the right medications at the right time and dosage. The celebration served as a reminder of the crucial contributions pharmacists make to public health and well-being.
