World Intellectual Property Day Observed
April 26, 2021, Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela, celebrated world intellectual property day. College director give a note on that day. He said this year is celebrated with the theme "Taking your Ideas to Market". Events organized to mark the Day seek to inform about the role of intellectual property rights in encouraging innovation and creativity. In 2000, WIPO's member states designated April 26 - the day on which the WIPO Convention came into force in 1970 - as World IP Day with the aim of increasing general understanding of IP. Since then, World IP Day has offered a unique opportunity each year to join with others around the globe to consider how IP contributes to the flourishing of music and the arts and to driving the technological innovation that helps shape our world. Today we celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day to praise the invaluable contributions made by innovators across the globe. Since the dawn of time, mankind has applied innovation to solve problems and live better, healthier and more plentiful lives. Apart from human creativity and passion, IP has been one of the most powerful forces fostering innovation – allowing knowledge to be created and disseminated at an unprecedented scale. He briefed that in last year 02 patent, 02 design patent and around 10 copyrights are filed and granted. On that occasion all the faculty members and students contribute to IP’s are awarded and appreciated. He also motivates all students and faculty members file copyrights, patents, design patents and others in future.
