World Cancer Day Observed.

Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela (Ropar) celebrated World Cancer Day on 04 February 2022. On this occasion the director of the college Dr. Shailesh Sharma made the staff and students aware about World Cancer Day through online mode. He said that World Cancer Day is celebrated on 4th February every year. On this day, awareness is created about the causes of cancer, its prevention and treatment. "There are many types of cancer. It can occur in any part of the body," Dr. Sharma said. It is due to the lifestyle of people today who try to move the body according to their own. Not sleeping or waking up on time, eating fast food in the diet, not exercising, taking drugs, mental stress and pollution etc. are the main reasons. In addition to this, in today's technological age, mobile phones, increasing use of computers and vibrations of the internet are also becoming the cause of this disease. Sharma said that 30 to 40 percent of the cures can be cured if the diagnosis is made in time. The college is working on various projects on cancer research with government grants and so far the college has published many papers and obtained patents.

Finally, the head of the pharmacology department, Dr. Ajay Singh Kushwa thanked all the students and staff.
