LOHRI CELEBRATION DEDICATED TO THE FARMERS STRUGGLE

Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College, College of Pharmacy and Maharani Satinder Kaur School Bela jointly celebrated Lohri with great devotion. On this occasion the President of College Management Committee Mr. Sangat Singh Longia performed the ritual of burning iron and the three organizations prayed for the success of the farmer’s struggle. He also paid homage to the martyred farmers. Satwant Kaur Shahi said that this day rises above religions and teaches us the meaning of brotherhood, which is why this day has a special significance in our culture.

The principal of the Pharmacy College Dr. Shailesh Sharma said that we should celebrate these festivals with great intensity as this day reminds us of our ancestors. School principal, Amarjit Singh said that this festival is also our seasonal festival, on the day when the last part of winter season starts, on this day sugarcane juice kheer is also made and eaten the next day and it is said that Poh Ridhi Magh is eaten. All the students and staff of the three institutes were present on the occasion.
