COP-BELA PROF GETS AICTE GRANT FOR RESEARCH ON CANCER
Dr. Shailesh Sharma, Professor of Pharmaceutics, has been granted a Major
Research Project titled “Evaluation and Management of Early Stage Cutaneous
T-cells lymphoma Skin Cancer Cells by Using Antineoplastic Drug Loaded
Engineered Microcarriers in Topical Formulations” by the All India Council for
Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi under Research Promotion Scheme. The
research project is based on development of microcarriers vesicles of
antineoplastic drug to improve the targeting and penetration; to increase
bioavailability of drug; to enhance residence period in the skin; to enhance safety
and to increase drug shelf life. This research opens the wide scope in tailoring the
microcarriers topical dosage form relevant to the pharmaceutical industrial
applications and effective in skin cancer treatment.
