World AIDS day celebrated at COP-BELA

Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela (Autonomous), observed World AIDS Day by organizing an awareness camp through the Red Ribbon Club. The students and faculty members reached out to the villagers of Bela to educate them about HIV/AIDS, its causes, symptoms, and prevention methods. They emphasized that AIDS is not transmitted through casual contact, such as using public toilets, handshakes, hugs, sharing food, or coughing and sneezing, aiming to eliminate misconceptions and stigma surrounding the disease. Dr. Shailesh Sharma, the college director, highlighted the significance of the day, stating, "December 1st marks World AIDS Day, a place where people unite to help those living with HIV and awareness of peoples AIDS-related illnesses." The camp was effectively organized by Professor Ramndeep Kaur and Professor Ravina Kumari, who played a key role in spreading awareness and fostering a better understanding of the disease in the local community.
